RAPID CITY, South Dakota – April 15, 2013 - Todd Ossenfort and Laca Ossenfort of Pioneer Credit Counseling in Rapid City, South Dakota attended the 20th Annual AICCCA Conference, January 23-25 in Clearwater Beach, Florida.   AICCA, The Association of Independent Consumer Credit Counseling Agencies, presented those in attendance with the rare opportunity to hear new perspective from AICCCA keynote speaker and New York Times bestselling author Suze Orman.

In 2006, Orman published The 9 Steps to Financial Freedom, and presented the executive leadership of Pioneer Credit Counseling and AICCCA members with new insight on her bestselling book as well as evolutionary perspective on the way debt management agencies think, feel and act about their company’s money management coaching techniques.

Suze Orman’s self-entitled show, The Suze Orman Show, airs Saturday at 9PM EST on CNBC, visit http://www.suzeorman.com/ .

Along with presenting those in attendance with fresh perspectives on time tested methodologies in personal financial management, Orman also addressed consumer facing solutions such as prepaid credit cards aimed at helping indebted consumers reestablish or improve their credit.

Todd Ossenfort: Deposit based credit cards seem to be hitting the marketplace in high volumes.

One topic of discussion was the new deposit based credit cards that seem to be hitting the marketplace in high volumes.  “These cards can sometimes present consumers with opportunities to reestablish their credit, however using the cards can come with a hefty price tag,” notes Pioneer Credit Counseling Chief Operating Officer, Todd Ossenfort.

Uniquely, Orman also presented a new, revolutionary, low cost approach to this problem.  Through “The Approved Card”, created by Suzy Orman consumers can have the flexibility of a credit card with a lower monthly cost and easy qualification guidelines.  The idea behind the card was to help consumers better manage their money, “The Approved Card is a prepaid card, not a credit card, so you can’t get into debt when you use it,” adds Orman.

Todd Ossenfort, Chief Operating Officer of South Dakota based Pioneer Credit Counseling, was pleased to have the chance to hear Orman’s perspectives on the debt management industry and excited about the opportunities The Approved Card can offer.  “It helps struggling American Families find new ways to manage their money and hold themselves accountable for their spending,” adds Todd Ossenfort.

Laca Ossenfort, Administrator for Pioneer Credit Counseling, was also very excited about the launch of the new Approved Card.  “This will allow families to make better decisions regarding their financial health and getting back on track” stated Laca Ossenfort.  Both were pleased to have the opportunity to meet and speak with Suze Orman.
